Mike Roarty

Director

E: mike@sfleadership.co.uk

Mike Roarty coaches and trains leaders, teams and organisations to achieve their goals and to be engaged, motivated and fulfilled in the way they achieve them.

Style and Strengths

My customers tell me that they really value how I balance a focus on results with a sense of fun. This is based on my belief that we achieve more when we enjoy what we do. All the evidence on engagement tells us that this is a fact. So my leadership development, team coaching and organisational development projects always seek to inspire and entertain as well as to deliver results.
My top 3 strengths are Creativity, Results Focus and Strategic Thinking.

What I offer

Many years experience with individual leaders, their teams, whole departments and the wider organisation allows me to offer my customers a holistic systemic approach, specifically designed to meet their own unique goals and challenges. This may show itself for instance in offering multi-level interventions across the organisation to build a more strengths focused culture in order to support and maintain transformational change. I offer the individual leader an approach that clarifies and strengthens their own unique values and abilities, helps them build the mindset that delivers results and inspiration, and at the same time takes account of their career aspirations and personal development.

Background

My career began in the music business where I spent 10 years in creative and managerial roles. This was followed by 10 years in the mental health field developing a number of brand new services, and coaching and training the staff who provided them. For the last 15 years I have worked freelance in coaching, training, leadership and organisational development. In that time I have worked with numerous organisations in a variety of sectors: healthcare, insurance, finance, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, local and regional government and the voluntary sector.

What I’m passionate about

With two grown up sons, my wife have now begun our ‘bucket list’ travels, so far to the pyramids and the Grand Canyon, and with the Great Wall of China next on the list. I write and record music – just for fun rather than for a living as I used to do. My wife and I foster hearing dogs in training and enjoy all the hiking and walking that accompanies that hugely rewarding role.
